Rudra was the subject of a violent beating, left trembling and in agony with a bleeding nose and a torn chunk of skin off of his face, by a random woman. He was faced with an almost impossible road to recovery. However, thanks to your support and contributions through CUDDLY, Rudra was able to be avenged through a stable recovery, a forever home, and a legal case going against the very woman who caused him so much pain…

His story began in a state of pure horror. Terrified after being brutally attacked, he fled into nearby bushes, too injured and afraid to move any further. Luckily for Rudra, A young boy witnessed the attack and bravely shared what he saw, refusing to let the cruelty go unnoticed. The moment our team saw the footage, we rushed to the scene, determined to find Rudra before it was too late. We found him curled into himself, blood dripping down his face, trembling in fear. We didn't hesitate. Our team secured Rudra and got him the emergency care he needed…

Rudra's wound was cleaned and stitched, and he began his recovery under close veterinary care. In those early days, he flinched at sudden movements, unsure if another blow was coming. He was terrified of a world that senselessly beat him for no reason. Trust didn't come easily, but with patience and gentleness, Rudra slowly began to learn that not all humans bring pain.

We placed in a loving foster home, where day by day, his fear began to soften into comfort. Then came news that made this whole story even more remarkable… The very family who had reported the cruelty against him made the decision to adopt Rudra themselves. Before going home, he was fully vaccinated and neutered, given every tool for a long, healthy life ahead. His physical wounds healed beautifully, but just as meaningful was watching him relax, trust, and start to feel safe. He was HOME

Rudra's story didn't stop at rescue and recovery. Our cruelty response team traveled to the scene, documented the evidence, identified his abuser, and filed a formal First Information Report under India's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Today, that case is active, and Rudra's abuser is officially on police record. It is a rare and powerful outcome, one that most street dogs who suffer abuse in India never receive.
