Toby

Toby was surrendered alongside his siblings as a puppy, and one by one, every single one of them found loving homes. Toby, however, stayed behind, watching from foster care as couches, backyards, and forever families welcomed his littermates while no one came for him. His story wasn't one of behavioral struggles or medical extremes, in fact, it was quite the opposite. He was crate-trained, house-trained, wonderful with other dogs, and gentle with kids. He was exactly the kind of dog people say they're looking for, and yet, month after month, not a single application came in.

On top of the emotional weight of being repeatedly passed over, Toby was battling a very sensitive stomach. He couldn't tolerate chicken-based foods without painful digestive issues, making a specialized diet a true necessity rather than a preference. After much trial and error, his caretakers finally found what worked for him: a salmon-based diet that completely transformed his comfort and quality of life. As his supply began to run low, the community stepped in to make sure Toby never went without the food his body needed, keeping him healthy and comfortable while he continued waiting for his person to come along.

Toby remained patient through it all, never losing that gentle, easygoing spirit that made him so wonderful, even as the wait stretched on far longer than it should have. Through every bag of food and every bit of support, he stayed happy, healthy, and ready for whenever his moment would finally come.

And eventually, that moment arrived! Toby was adopted into a loving new family and finally got the home he so deeply deserved after being overlooked for so long.

Thanks to your support through CUDDLY, Toby received the specialized nutrition that kept him healthy and comfortable throughout his long wait for his forever home. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared his story, and refused to let him be forgotten. Because of you, Toby now gets to live the life he always deserved.
