Winnie

Winnie has had such a hard life even though she was only 12 weeks. After being dumped in an empty lot with her siblings and other abused pups, we found her and we thought her pain would be over.

Soon after we found out she has a heart defect and it will take open heart surgery to save her. The good news/silver lining in all of this is that it is one of the most common defects seen and diagnosed in small breed dogs. It is operable, and fixable. Winnie had already begun two heart medications in preparation for surgery to hopefully help the blood flow and to shrink some of the dilation that had already occurred. It was touch and go but Winnie is a little fighter!

To some, this is just a video of a puppy enjoying a bone , but to us who who know and love Winnie , this is nothing short of a living miracle . Not just a puppy experiencing a new moment, but rather a little girl who now can actually be a puppy! A healthy , thriving , puppy that only weeks ago had her life hanging in the balance and we really didn't know what the outcome may be.

My thanks will never feel like enough, but I'm saying it again; Thank you , thank you all of you who cared , prayed , and donated to her care and purchased her wishlist items to raise her spirits. She did not completely reach her goal but we had enough to pay off the surgery.  I wish Winnie could realize logically what has been done for her, but i know she appreciates the love you have shown her.

Stay tuned for her next chapter! If you would like to support Winnie please donate to the remainder of her vet bills, and/or purchase items for her from her wishlist:
