Young puppy Jaelyn was found in a box after someone stomped her leg, shattering her bones.
Jaelyn was a sweet natured six-month-old girl that was found in the middle of nowhere, lying in a box. A nice woman noticed her and took her to the Palmdale shelter. Unfortunately, Jaelyn didn't have much chance of getting out of the shelter in her current situation. Mutt Hut Rescue stepped up and pulled her from the shelter before she was euthanized. They rushed to get her the medical treatment she desperately needed. Upon inspection, the vet relayed that because of the nature, shape, and result of the injury, it was likely that a human stomped on her leg.
Mutt Hut decided to name this pup Jaelyn because it means young fighter and survivor, which is exactly what she did! Once they received the pricey estimate of surgery for Jaelyn, Mutt Hut knew they needed help with her medical bills. They reached out to CUDDLY for help and were able to raise $2,500 in monetary donations, as well as thousands more in crucial Wishlist items like food, joint supplements, and orthopedic beds. Once she got her surgery, she spent 6-8 weeks in foster care while she healed. She ended up in foster care with the founder of her rescue, where she just fell in love with their young daughter. Jaelyn and the little girl were inseparable; after awhile, her rescuer knew she couldn't let her go and ended up adopting her into her own home! Jaelyn had a very long road of recovery, but no human will ever hurt her again. She will be forever loved by the amazing woman who gave her a second chance at life.
