Thank you to Barks of Love for saving sweet Benjamin and finding him a furever home!

Rescuers at Barks of Love saw Benjamin and noticed he wasn't putting weight on his back leg. Upon further examination it was discovered that Benjamin's right back leg was 2? shorter than the left leg. X-rays and they revealed that Benjamin had a severely broken femur that was never treated and healed as an almost solid mass! 

After consulting with a veterinarian, rescuers knew that while he wasn't in pain now, this injury could cause spine and hip issues down the road as he had to compensate for the shorter length when he walked.

The difficult decision was made to amputate the leg as it wasn't useful, and this would allow Benjamin to move more freely and comfortably. Benjamin went in for surgery, and the next day - he was already walking around! He was wagging his tail and giving lots of love to the nurses! Benjamin is the happiest dog, his tail is always wagging and he loves to give kisses!

This little boy made an astounding recovery and we couldn't have been more excited and proud of sweet Benjamin!

Most of the photos and updates that we shared with our CUDDLY community were from his foster of Benjamin usually sleeping peacefully, he really enjoyed those big fluffy beds that were donated to him and the warm sweaters!

This pup was the epitome of perseverance as he had really been through it all. He has the heart of a champion for sure, and he stole our hearts in the process.

To top off this amazing success story, Benjamin found his FURever home with his foster (fail!)! Benjamin bonded more and more with his foster family and his new doggy brother and sister. It became increasingly obvious he was where he was meant to be!

Not to mention the wishlist items that he loves to cuddle up on the beds, cuddle with the toys (when he's not taking them out into the backyard to play with in the sun!), and wearing the comfy "cuddly" sweaters!
