Bailey is about 8 years old. She was surrendered because her family could no longer afford to care for her. She came to us on April 28, 2016, weighing only 37 pounds. She should have weighed 60 to 65 pounds. When she was picked at the Humane Society, she was too weak to walk and had to be carried to the car. The vet wasn't sure she would make it through the night.

Our wonderful vets and their caring staff members quickly went to work examining Bailey to determine what ailments she might have. It was determined that she is diabetic and also blind. It took several weeks to find the correct combination of food and insulin to keep her glucose levels normal. It was also discovered that she had a lesion on her side, which was removed and biopsied. It was determined that the lesion was cancerous, but after the removal she was proclaimed cancer-free. After the generous donations from numerous supporters, Bailey is now equipped with a halo-harness to help her get around without bumping into walls. She is a loving dog who would not be around if not for her diligent and dedicated rescuers.
