Tippy was found running across a busy road but was thankfully rescued by MatchDog Rescue before tragedy struck. Unfortunately, this did not solve all of Tippy's troubles as she had a large paraesophageal hernia in her chest.
MatchDog Rescue took Tippy to the vet who recommended emergency surgery to remove the tumor since Tippy was having difficulty breathing due to partially collapsed lungs. The vet was able to repair the large diaphragmatic defect which they suspected was congenital. It was a tough surgery and an ever tougher recovery for poor Tippy. She had to stay at the vet's so they could continue to remove fluid from her chest cavity.
It has been a long road of recovery for Tippy, but we ecstatic to announce that Tippy is now 100% a healthy, playful puppy WITH a loving forever family! Tippy is full of puppy energy, loves playing with toys, and having her tummy rubbed. She's just the sweetest pup with a lovely temperament and we couldn't be more excited for her!
With this type of hernia, Tippy would have either died on the streets or in a shelter. Fortunately, Tippy will never know this life because her wonderful CUDDLY supporters had ensured she will know love, happiness, and be surrounded by people who love her dearly for the rest of her life. MatchDog cannot thank you enough for your gracious donations and support!
