You should never be able to see the bones that are protruding from under sweet Champion's skin. But due to an unspeakable level of neglect, he had been brought to his absolute breaking point.
Champion was curled up in his kennel at a shelter, literally hours away from death when Two Tailz Rescue was contacted about him. No one knew just how sick he was. Thankfully, rescuers got him to the vet just in time. He was put on an IV and antibiotics, and his condition has been monitored very closely ever since. Champ was very anemic, his immune system was in overdrive with an extremely high white cell count trying to fight a terrible infection. He was significantly emaciated and so weak that he couldn't even stand and had to be carried. He weighed only 32 pounds when he should have weighed AT LEAST 60 pounds. He arrived at the vet on December 29th, and he left the critical care vet on January 5th.
Champ had a long road, but all in all this sweet boy is a fighter. He went to an amazing medical foster where he was being monitored daily and received lots of TLC for the first time in his life. We are over the moon to announce that sweet Champ has not only made a full recovery, but he also found his loving, forever home! His days are of neglect are a distant memory and they are now filled with endless love, food, and belly rubs. We cannot thank Champion's CUDDLY supporters enough! Because of you, this sweet boy finally got his happy ending!
