Carmelo

Carmelo is as sweet as can be and yet, he had the saddest story. He was discovered as a stray in Bakersfield, California by a nice family who offered to take him in until his family was found…but, no one came forward. They then reached out to local rescues for help, but once again, no one responded. When rescuers at Tails To The Wind heard about Carmelo, there was no way they were going to allow him to go back on the streets, so without hesitation, they drove all the way to Bakersfield and quite literally saved his life.

Carmelo had received a full vet check and antibiotics to relieve his itchy, painful skin infection. Carmelo had been through more trauma than any living being should have to, and he has the battle scars to prove it. Due to his scars and wounds, the vet believed he was used for dogfighting and was more than likely the bait dog. However, this hasn't affected his behavior because he is the sweetest most trusting dog, and was clear he was just happy to finally be safe. After lots of vet appointments and medications to alleviate his itchy skin condition, and endless amounts of TLC, Carmelo made a beautiful recovery. Day by day, and little by little, he began to learn that humans aren't so bad after all, and life is meant to be enjoyed! 

Well, we are over the moon to announce that Carmelo found the perfect forever family to call his own. His new family has lots of Bull Terrier experience and a huge yard for him to play fetch in! Carmelo has come so far since he first came to Tails To The Wind and we know that he is only going to thrive in a home of his own.
