Martin

This poor boy's owner neglected him until he was a walking skeleton. Then, as if he hadn't already suffered enough, the person that was supposed to love and protect him pulled out a gun and shot him in the head with no sympathy whatsoever. 

This poor soul was laying on the side of the road, bleeding out, and knocking on death's door when a kind stranger happened to be in the right place at the right time. The wonderful man, named Martin, scooped this little guy up and brought him to The Road Home Animal Project to get him urgent care immediately. It was then when rescuers decided to name this sweet boy after the reason why he is getting a second chance at a better life, Martin. 

Martin was an absolute mess when he came in and vets worked around the clock trying to perform a miracle. He had a broken jaw and shattered teeth, his eye had been destroyed, and fragments from the bullet were still in his skull. On the inside - Martin's body was polluted with whip and hookworms resulting in anemia. Something very easily preventable, his owner just didn't care to take proper precautions. 

Martin spent a few days in the hospital to receive critical care, and all along the way do you know who visited him and supported him? His finder, Martin. It truly was love at first sight for these two. Martin had a long road to recovery, but he continued to amaze his foster family every day with his improvement. He never knew life could be filled with a warm home, a blanket, food, and love! His foster has been working through his emotional issues, as he has a lot of them to overcome. These issues likely started far before the physical abuse he endured prior to coming into rescue. Martin is truly a miracle, and he is still recovering and gaining weight. He will still need continued vet care and eventually be neutered when healthy enough, but he is finally learning that life is meant to be enjoyed.

Because of Martin's CUDDLY family, his campaign raised $8,000 to give him a brand new beautiful life! He even received a stylish Hawaiian shirt from his wishlist and he looks so handsome! However, the good news doesn't end there because Martin also found his forever home. Can you guess who? Yes, Martin is going home with his finder, Martin, FOREVER!
