In the blink of an eye, 4-month-old Motley was hit with a burning, searing pain after a snake bit her in the face.

The area, as you can see from her photos, swelled as her body began desperately fighting off the venom - but with no known family or support system, this little puppy's hope for surviving the attack was dwindling.

Motley, who was a stray at the time she was bit, was lucky to be found by a kind human who lived nearby. Motley was found in an area where it's common for dumped and abandoned animals to be found, so it's likely she wasn't born there but rather was dropped off at some point in her short life and left to fend for herself.

The family who found Motley reached out to Save An Angel and they were able to immediately step in to offer life-saving medical care. Motley's swelling has diminished since her initial hospital visit, but rescuers and medical teams were monitoring her closely for any adverse effects. She was additionally extremely emaciated, weighing only 22 lbs!

While in foster care, she was getting treated and has miraculously gained 10 pounds! Her swelling has healed and she was also seeing potential adopters so we are SO happy for her journey to continue in the best way possible! The only way is up from here little girl!
