Macie

Macie was left locked in a basement alone for 6 long months after her owner passed away. Being in a crate with no human contact for so long had traumatized her. She was terrified of new people and was using aggression to protect herself from being hurt again.

Macie has had multiple fosters try to break down the walls she has built up. They were all ready to shower her in love, but Macie was not yet ready to receive it. Macie needed some assistance recovering from the cruelty she had experienced and it seemed an expert trainer should be the one to provide it. 

As you can imagine, being kept in the basement for 6 months really took a toll on Macie mentally, so Zoe's Home was ecstatic to get her the help she needed and deserved. They had found a training facility that can show her the patience and kindness she deserved. However, the training Macie needed was not cheap, but because of CUDDLY, her campaign raised over $500 to go directly toward this! In this facility, she learned to be less aggressive and to trust people again. Her training program consisted of helping her through her resource guarding, fear of strangers, and dog aggression. 

Macie worked around the clock with the trainer that understood her very well and worked through her behavioral issues. Before training, she would be startled by any noise, cars passing by, a bicyclist passing through, etc. Even worse, if a person were to walk by. But, now, she's a completely different dog! She's been from an aggressive dog with behavioral/trust issues to a beautiful well-behaved girl that we are SO proud of! All it took was a little patience, training, love, and most importantly time. 

Not only did Macie receive the necessary training, but she ALSO found her forever home! We cannot even begin to express how happy we are that this sweet girl has found a forever home. She has been through so much, but now has a wonderful dad and a little family to call her own. To everyone that has followed her journey, donated, shared, and asked about her - THANK YOU!
