Poor baby Tripp was brought to Southern Cross Animal Rescue after being stepped on by a horse. Sadly, this ended up shattering his hind leg and left him with a nasty open wound.
After an examination at the vet, it was determined that his leg could not be saved and he needed it amputated. Since Tripp was a tiny puppy, he needed to gain more weight and obtain better health before having this surgery, so he underwent surgery on 6/15. This sweet little guy had been staying with his foster family where he had been taking antibiotics for his infection. He had also been given a dewormer to fight a heavy load of parasites that he picked up.
Thankfully, Tripp's amputation surgery was a success! For a pup so small, he sure has a big personality and does not let his limitations hold him back! However, the good news doesn't end there because Tripp also got to celebrate the Fourth of July with his new family because he got adopted! Can you think of a better way to celebrate some independence?! We are so happy to see his big smile knowing how loved he is going to be in his new home!
From the bottom of our hearts, we wanted to say thank you to everyone who has supported Tripp and made his recovery possible. Because of you all, he will be forever spoiled and loved in his new home!
