Libbie

This is Libbie… she was dropped at our rescue by a friend after she saw her trying to cross the road, dragging herself to avoid getting hit by cars in the dark. Sadly, her left front leg was totally destroyed and twisted to the side from the severe nerve damage.

When we took her to the vet for her initial visit and they saw the damage done, they told us the only solution would be amputating the entire leg. We also learned that her injury was not recent, meaning that people saw her dragging her mangled body on the roads like this for weeks…and nobody called for help. On top of all that, the poor girl was just 3 months old, terrified by the unknown that has consumed her life.

Her journey following the initial visit consisted of multiple ups and downs, as the vet said that she would likely die on the table if we proceeded with any kind of surgery. She was severely anemic, riddled with sarcoptic mange and fungal, infested with parasites, and in no condition to go through surgery. He recommended getting her to first gain weight, keep her on medication for the pain, give her supplements, etc; and maybe in a month, things will look better for her.

Thankfully, after weeks of following the guidance of our vet, Libbie successfully had her surgery! She spent her days recovering from her amputation beautifully while she waited for a family to come and make her a permanent member of a family.

Luckily…Libbie didn’t have to wait long as she has now been ADOPTED through our amazing rescue partner in Florida, Mutty Paws. Life for her has been one difficult journey after the next, but now she finally gets the chance to know love like she’s never known before! Our joy for this girl is over the moon and we can’t wait for all the adventures she will have with her new family!

We also want to take a moment to say thank you to all who have supported Libbie by donating and sharing her story! The CUDDLY platform has allowed Libbie’s life to be transformed and we will forever be grateful!
