Duke

"How anyone could turn their backs on this beautiful, undeniably deserving angel without so much as a second thought is something we can never, and will never, understand. Yet, this poor boy IS in this position: Because you see, Duke's reality consisted of being welcomed into a home, and into a family––just to be, quite literally, STABBED in the back. And multiple other places across his body, for that matter.

You see, at some point, they’d decided Duke had served his purpose. That he was done being a part of their family. So they proceeded to drive a knife, or some other incredibly sharp object, into his fragile body. But instead of taking him to get the emergency medical attention he so desperately needed, poor Duke found himself out on the streets—injured, bleeding, and very alone. And his luck quickly got even worse..."

We are so happy to report that Duke’s luck has changed! If you had a chance to read Duke’s story in its entirety, you would know that this boy has lived through absolute horrors. We can’t even imagine the type of evil it takes to treat an innocent pup that way, but there he was. 

After arriving at our facility, our amazing team and incredible supporters rallied around Duke. Your generous offerings allowed him to receive the best medical care and treatment there is, and he SO deserved it. 

It was a long and difficult road to recovery, but he pushed through. There were times that it seemed as if he knew that there was something better waiting for him on the other side of all this mess, so he stayed strong. 

It was an emotional day when he found his forever best friend, a man who drove all the way from Tennessee to come to get him, that’s the kind of love that Duke deserves. He is now living his very best life, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
