"Although Michaela has only been on this earth for a whole six months, humanity has failed her. At a mere 5 pounds, you can count every rib protruding from her skin, and every single crevice of Michaela’s body is crawling with maggots. This innocent little girl is so weak to the point that she cannot even lift her head - let alone stand. And despite all of this, someone thought it would be a great idea to dump her in a box on the side of the road…knowing full well she was going to die a slow, painful death.
In the late hours of the night when we received the urgent text message about a sickly puppy on the brink of death deteriorating away in a box, we jumped into action to save her life. Michaela was SO hungry that she scarfed down a bowl of food in seconds, and although she wants to drink water, she cannot even hold her head up by herself."...
Our team worked tirelessly to make sure Michaela made it. It was touch and go for quite some time, but this precious girl was fighting and we were fighting right alongside her.
Slowly but surely we watched Michaela come back to life. Her strength began to come back, her energy and spirits lifted, and she began acting like the puppy that she was! It is one of the most amazing parts of the rescue business when you get to watch an animal develop and heal and it’s only then that you get to see their true personality.
She continued this way for quite some time, she took her recovery nice and slow- enjoying all the attention that came with it. Each milestone was a treasure to watch, especially with knowing the contrast of her arrival. But, we knew it was time to find her forever home.
It was clear the moment that Michaela met her two daddies, that she had found her forever. We are so happy to say that she was adopted by two incredible men who will be showing her all the love and attention she could possibly need!
This all happened because of the generosity of our amazing supporters. We just want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving Michaela a second chance at life. We also want to say a huge thank you to CUDDLY for giving us a platform to share her story. We couldn’t have done it without you guys!
