Remus

When Remus came to us, he was the victim of a life filled with horrific neglect and abuse at the hands of his owner. 

With no time to waste, he was immediately rushed to the hospital where treatments began right away in order to save his weak and dying body that was covered in feces and urine. It took countless baths and scrubbing to finally get him clean and lots of medication to begin clearing the raging skin infection that covered the entirety of his body. 

But, the worst of his ailments was not something we have expected. This poor boy was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy. Unfortunately, this disease was not something our rescue could heal as there is no cure. The only thing that we could do is continue with his current treatment plan, which is exactly what we did. With this diagnosis, we made the decision that Remi would live out his life with his current foster where he would remain supported by our rescue. 

With this tragic outcome, we never expected what happened next. Remus made a REMARKABLE transformation in spite of the disease that tried to take him down. We are so proud of how far this handsome boy has come and we are excited to see how he continues to grow.
