Eloise

We had no idea how this 10-week-old baby was still breathing after being shot point-blank in the head by some monster who thought to kill her…leaving poor Eloise confused, torn up, and terrified.

The level of abuse that Eloise endured in her short life is unimaginable. How anyone could do this to another living, breathing soul is horrific. When Eloise was discovered, she was rushed into Blue Pearl in the middle of the night with a severe bullet wound in her mouth. The vet contacted us with no one else to help her get through this nightmarish trauma. We prepared for the worst, but nothing could have prepared us for the photo they sent. She was tiny, no bigger than our hands put together, and so confused about how the people who were supposed to love her could allow this to happen. 

After being admitted to the hospital, Eloise was stabilized, and her medical team did a fantastic job getting her settled and comfortable.  She was then prepped and had her CT scan, and the results left us so sad for her.  She was only 10 weeks old and weighed just 12 lbs, her life was just starting, and she had already endured a lifetime of pain. There was nothing left, literally fragments of pulverized bone where her jaw used to be. Before this, we had seen a lot of shocking things in rescue, but we certainly never expected to deal with something like this; it was the most distressing thing we’ve ever seen.

And, just when all hope started to seem lost as Eloise was given a 50/50 chance…she beat the odds! Her surgery was a HUGE success because of the brave fighter she is! Looking at the before and afters of Eloise, you can’t tell the two are the same puppy! She is full of joy, love, and life and refuses to let anyone else rob her of her freedom! Since recovering so beautifully, Eloise has been fully vetted, spayed, and chipped…the only thing missing from her life was a family to share her joys with. BUT…Eloise did not have to wait long as she was finally placed with the perfect family! Let me say that again, Eloise has been ADOPTED, and we are so thrilled for her!! 

This miracle deserves nothing but endless days of love, which is exactly what her new family plans to give her!
