**Kleenex Alert!** 

Although being as sweet as her name, Precious found herself being tortured and abused at the hands of a monster. You see, this sweet little girl’s ‘owner’ — yes, her human…the one who is supposed to love and protect her — decided it would be a good idea to tie a shoelace around her leg. But, they didn’t leave her like this for a few minutes…they left her like this for DAYS. 

When we came across Precious’ picture because she was being given away for free on social media, we immediately jumped into the car to welcome her to our rescue. After arriving, we were absolutely horrified when we discovered that Precious’ little leg had been restrained by a shoelace that was cutting deep into her skin. She had left like this for days, if not months, and so by this time, her tissue, muscle, and tendons had all rotted away leaving infected tissue and full bone exposure. Although clearly defeated, Precious put on her best pug personality and it was so very clear that she was SO grateful to finally be safe.

 During Precious' recovery, she was also diagnosed with Distemper — an often fatal illness that most healthy dogs cannot survive, let alone one recovering from surgery. During those dark days, we didn’t know if she would ever see her happy ending. Distemper care is 24/7, total isolation, medicating, and waiting to see if the symptoms progress. After 5 months of waiting and praying for that negative PCR test and lots of trips to the vet, Precious finally tested NEGATIVE!

Meanwhile, here in Idaho, a woman was waiting just as patiently for Precious. She would message us to ask how Precious was, come to see us at adoption events, and send gifts...just hoping Precious would recover. We were BEYOND thrilled when she wanted to adopt Precious! And it's safe to say that our little girl is thriving and getting spoiled like the princess she deserves in her new home! Precious (now Mimi) even had a welcome home party, where she got to be the center of attention, open presents, and be a princess for the day (and of course, the rest of her life!). 

We cannot think of a happier outcome for our sweet girl. Thank you to Eliamar, Raquel, and our CUDDLY Fam for sending all the well wishes, support, and gifts to Precious. None of this could have been possible without your amazing support and generosity! We are so beyond thankful for the donations that transformed this once-broken girl and made her whole again!
