Little Precious was found running for her life in the backwoods of Arkansas in a state of extreme hysteria. By the time rescuers finally trapped the frantic pup, they were shocked by her heart-breaking condition.
Sweet Precious suffered severe head trauma and a ruptured eye. Without any animal hospitals nearby, the rescuers reached out to Pawzatively Canine Incorporation for urgent assistance.
We took poor Precious to the vet the next morning for a thorough examination and doctors found bite marks and puncture wounds on her head, which indicates that she was likely attacked by a wild animal in the woods, such as a bear or coyote.
Precious received much-needed pain medication and antibiotics, although doctors said that her ruptured eye was damaged beyond repair and was surgically removed before it became infected and spread to the rest of her body.
With the help of a medical foster home, Precious started to regain her strength and the swelling in her eye reduced immensely. Over time, her appetite returned and her eye healed without infection. She is even becoming more active and enjoys going on walks with her medical foster.
Great news! Precious has fully recovered and was adopted into an amazing new home with a loving family (and fur brother) who are excited to help sweet Precious live her best life. The good news is that dogs can quite easily adapt to life with one eye and live long, happy, and completely problem-free lives.
Of course, Precious' new life wouldn't have been possible without our generous supporters and awesome partners at CUDDLY who helped share Precious' remarkable story and made her lifesaving surgery possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking a chance on Precious and giving her the life she deserves.
