This innocent boy’s journey was long and exhausting all because he ended up in the wrong hands. However, the neglect didn’t begin when his former owner got evicted and left him to fend for himself with no food or water in their empty house, it started way before…because no caring owner leaves their pet to die a slow, inhumane death.

As hours turned into days, Charlie Brown waited in the empty home, waiting for his owner to return. The constant ache of starvation was becoming intolerable and he was running out of options to simply stay alive. So, in an act of pure desperation and helplessness, he began eating his own foot. Can you imagine being in a position where you are left with no other option than to eat your own flesh? Neverminding the pain that must have come with it, destroying it down to the bone. 💔 

As soon as Charlie Brown arrived at our rescue, he immediately underwent an emergency amputation to save his life before infections consumed his fragile body. Thankfully, the surgery was successful and Charlie bounced back to life a happy tripod, and then underwent treatment for his heartworms. For a pup that had been through so much, he is the most loving, happy boy who ALWAYS has a smile on his face!

Flash forward to today, Charlie Brown is living life to the fullest in his FOREVER home in NYC — yup, you read that correctly! Our sweet boy has been adopted and continues to be showered in all the love, food, and toys he can get in the big apple!
